Before your appointment:
Schedule an appropriate session: Discuss your goals and fitness level with the practitioner beforehand to ensure you choose the right session type and duration.
Wear comfortable clothing: Opt for loose-fitting, breathable clothing that allows for easy movement.
Communicate any injuries or concerns: Inform your practitioner about any injuries, limitations, or medical conditions you have to ensure a safe and appropriate session.
Be mindful of hygiene: Arrive clean and free of strong fragrances. Clean socks are a plus.
Be respectful of others: If you are sharing a waiting room, be mindful of noise levels and maintain a respectful demeanor towards other clients and staff.
Arrive on time: Be mindful of other clients and show respect for the practitioner's schedule by arriving on time for your appointment.
During your session:
Be clear and honest: Communicate any discomfort or feelings of tension clearly to the practitioner. Don't hesitate to ask them to adjust the pressure or position as needed.
Relax and breathe: Allow yourself to relax and focus on your breath throughout the session. This will help you get the most out of the stretches. You may see your practitioner looking at the wall or closing their eyes. They are trained to feel issues with your muscles/body and its often easier work just by feel.
Actively participate: While the practitioner guides the stretches, gently resisting or engaging the muscles as instructed can enhance the effectiveness.
Maintain open communication: If anything feels uncomfortable or painful, speak up immediately.
Respect boundaries: Remember, the practitioner is there to guide and assist, not push you beyond your limits.
